Job Opportunity at BHRUT Antenatal Clinic
Are you ready to be part of one of the UK’s largest and busiest women’s services? The Antenatal Clinic at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals (BHRUT) is seeking a proactive Apprentice Reception/Clerical Officer to join our dynamic team.
This full-time role (37.5 hours/week) involves rotating between Queens Hospital, King George Hospital, and Fanshawe Health Centre, offering a unique opportunity to gain diverse administrative experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Alongside the role, you will complete the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship. If you already hold a Business Administration qualification at Level 3 or above, you are not eligible to apply for this post.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for an Apprenticeship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be 16 years old or over
- Have the right to work in the UK with a visa that covers the duration of the apprenticeship
- Have been ordinarily resident in the UK for the past 3 years
We provide comprehensive training to ensure patients receive the best care possible. If you have strong organisational skills, a calm demeanour, and are eager to develop your specialist administrative expertise, we’d love to hear from you.

Role Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Arranging all new and follow-up appointments in a timely manner
- Ensuring appointments follow the care pathways set out within the department
- Assisting with the effective day-to-day running of the clinic
- Helping the department deliver streamlined and safer services while achieving key targets
The role will be cross-sectional, covering joint services between Women’s and Child Health and Radiology Services. The generic responsibilities are consistent within each area but will involve understanding departmental booking systems.

We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
