Job Description
Responsibilities
We are a busy reception and manage multiple tasks from answering the telephone, booking appointments, marking clients in when they attend an appointment and taking payment when they leave an appointment.
We also have animals coming in for private boarding that need to be booked in and the paperwork filled in correctly.
What you'll do at work
- Booking clients in
- Answering telephone
- Taking Payments and marking off on computer system
- Keeping reception clean
- Making sure all paperwork and systems are updated
Wage
- £15,392 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Customer service practitioner (level 2)
Hours
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 8.30am to 4.30pm
- Saturdays - 8.30 am to 1.30pm
- 37 hours a week

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications.
- Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Training schedule
Wigan College - Customer Service.
The successful applicant will also be a fully trained Veterinary receptionist, these skills will be taught on site by our experienced staff.
All training will be on our site and on the job training.
Essential qualifications
- GCSE in:
- English (grade 4)
- Maths (grade 4)
