About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification. As an Apprentice Residential Support Worker, you will support learners with their day to day lives and help them build confidence and independence.
Your Role Will Include:
- Supporting learners to develop independent living skills, including preparing healthy meals, personal care and hygiene, shopping and managing money
- Creating a safe, caring and positive environment where learners feel supported and valued
- Supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of learners
- Helping young people develop their social and communication skills through activities, projects and time spent in the community
- Supporting learners to travel independently to college, work placements and social activities
- Planning and supporting enjoyable leisure and social activities both at the residential centre and in the wider community
- Helping learners develop their employability skills and prepare for adult life
- Recording learner progress and celebrating their achievements, while identifying areas where they may need additional support
- Working closely with college staff, parents, carers and other professionals to make sure each learner receives the right support
- Taking part in team meetings, contributing to personalised programmes, risk assessments and behaviour management plans
- Following Health & Safety, Safeguarding and other College procedures
- Helping to create an inclusive environment where everyone is respected and their differences are valued
- Providing a high level of customer service to learners, families, colleagues and other visitors

Essential Qualifications:
- GCSE in:
- English (grade 4 to 9 (A* to C))
- Maths (grade 4 to 9 (A* to C))
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
Other Requirements:
- Passing a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Your earnings can increase over time with an apprenticeship. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, for the right candidate there could be an opportunity to progress onto further apprenticeship qualifications or a full-time role within the college.
