Apprentice Safeguarding Officer

Fixed Term Contract for up to 18 Months

37 hours per week

Salary:

  • Point 1 - £16,106 a year – initial salary for all new starters for the first 12 months of the apprenticeship.
  • Point 2 - £21,848 a year - completed 12 months and aged 18 – 20
  • Point 3 - £25,584 a year - completed 12 months and aged 21+

Warwick District Council is looking for a motivated, professional and compassionate individual to join our Community Safety Team as a Apprentice Safeguarding Officer. This exciting apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised Level 3 Safeguarding Support Officer qualification while developing practical experience in safeguarding, community safety and public service. You will support day-to-day safeguarding activities, including assisting with referrals and information requests, triaging concerns, maintaining records, preparing reports and meeting documentation, and supporting safeguarding projects and awareness initiatives across the Council. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to contribute to safeguarding decisions, work with a range of internal and external partners, and promote the wellbeing, safety and dignity of residents. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, good attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a genuine commitment to supporting others.

What we're looking for:

  • GCSEs Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to work professionally with colleagues, councillors, partners and members of the public.
  • An organised and adaptable approach, with the maturity to handle sensitive safeguarding information appropriately.
