To support the customers and the department with administration duties.

To deliver a professional, timely, efficient, and friendly service to our customers both internal and external.

What you'll do at work

  • To maintain all customer records and documentation
  • To maintain online customer records accurately
  • To assist with the entering of Technical Support Contracts
  • To help and assist with taking customer orders over the telephone/website
  • To provide support and assist where possible in answering and resolving day-to-day customer queries, including opening the post, answering the telephone, and responding to emails
  • To assist with sending out goods via couriers
  • Throughout the apprenticeship, to acquire exceptional customer service skills, seeking advice from the wider team where in doubt and gain confidence in resolving queries to a satisfactory conclusion referring them up the line
  • To always comply with the letter and spirit of the Company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy, Equality & Diversity Policy, and Code on Business Conduct and Behaviour
  • Carry out such other duties as are reasonably requested by the jobholder’s line manager from time to time

What you'll learn

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to:

  • Write letters or emails
  • Create proposals
  • Perform financial processes
  • Record and analyse data

Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information, and produce data analysis where required.

Produces accurate records and documents including:

  • Emails
  • Letters
  • Files
  • Payments
  • Reports
  • Proposals

Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports, and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.

Training schedule

Working towards completing Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard. Work-based learning with attendance once per month at Hertford Regional College, Broxbourne campus for workshops with Assessor.

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE in:
    • English (grade 4-9)
    • Maths (grade 4-9)

Other requirements

There is sometimes a requirement to attend weekly/monthly early morning meetings. These usually begin at 8:30am.

About this employer

We sell, install, and support Hardware & Software for customer Time & Attendance needs. The software covers all aspects of personnel management/Absences/Payroll. In addition, we sell basic time machines & consumables.

We are a young team, based a few minutes’ walk from the main Hertford Town. New open-planned office. There are 22 staff members in total, 14 based in Hertford, 8 based remotely located throughout the UK.
