Join our sales team and receive full training and support to help you succeed. You'll speak to customers who have already shown interest in our products, so there's no cold calling. Build rapport, provide great service, and develop a rewarding career with excellent progression opportunities.
Wage
- £14,560 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

- In addition to your apprenticeship salary, you'll have the opportunity to earn uncapped commission on all new business sales, with realistic on-target earnings of around £25,000 per year.
Training
Training course: Customer service practitioner (level 2)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. No evening or weekend working required. 35 hours a week

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
The apprentice will support the sales team by speaking with new customers, providing insurance quotations, and following up on outstanding business opportunities. Duties include:
- Making and receiving calls
- Managing scheduled callback
- Updating company systems
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with company, industry, and regulatory requirements

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations, and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications.
- Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity, and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
Training schedule
Full training will be provided through a combination of on-the-job learning and support from our training provider. All training will take place within the workplace during working hours and will lead to the successful completion of the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard.

Essential qualifications
- GCSE in:
- English Language (grade Grade 4-9 or A*-C)
- English Literature (grade Grade 4-9 or A*-C)
- Maths (grade Grade 4-9 or A*-C)
