About the Role
Northern Skills are recruiting on behalf of Subway for a friendly, passionate, team player to join their busy team as a Sandwich Artist. The successful learner will gain a level 2 Foundation Level Apprenticeship in Catering and Hospitality.
Wage
- £12,480 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Hours
The store is open Monday to Sunday. Hours and days will be confirmed at interview, but typical shift patterns include:
- 7.30am- 3.00pm
- 11.00am - 7.00pm
A flexible approach to working hours is essential. 30 hours a week

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As a Catering & Hospitality Apprentice, you will work within a busy Subway store, gaining hands-on experience in food preparation, customer service, and day-to-day store operations. This Level 2 apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for a future career in hospitality, retail food service, or management.

Key Responsibilities
- Food preparation - preparing fresh ingredients, assembling sandwiches, and following Subway’s food safety standards
- Customer service - greeting customers, taking orders, handling payments, and ensuring a positive experience
- Store hygiene - maintaining cleanliness of the store, equipment, and food preparation areas
- Stock management - assisting with stock rotation, deliveries, and storage
- Teamwork - supporting colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations
- Compliance - following all health & safety, food hygiene, and brand standards
