Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, career-minded individual to join our dedicated team. Are you passionate about continuous learning? Do you demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and like a challenge?
In a busy and fast-paced environment, you will be supported through a competency-based training programme to integrate and work confidently within the team. We will offer you training to actively provide assistance for Cath Lab and Cardiology Day Case patients in pre-procedure, during procedures, and post-procedure environment, including inpatients.
You will assist the team in the pre-procedure and post-procedure cleanliness and maintenance of medical equipment for functionality.
With support, you will be responsible to help maintain a safe environment and assist as directed to care for and move equipment, supplies, blood and specimen products, and pharmacy items.
Supporting stock management within the Cath Labs and Cardiology Day Case will be an important part of the role.
DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU ALREADY HOLD A LEVEL 3 QUALIFICATION IN DIRECT CARE (INCLUDING NVQ’S, HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE OR EQUIVALENT)
Functional Skills – all successful applicants will need to undertake a skill scan and initial assessment in English and Maths. On completion of this, you will be given a personalized plan to develop your skills.

To proactively support patients, nursing team, and wider MDT within the Cath Lab and Cardiology Day Unit. Act as a circulating person during procedures (when fully trained).
- Perform venepuncture and cannulation.
- Undertake recording of 12 lead ECG's.
- Support transfer of patients to and from cath labs/day unit/wards.
- Work with the team to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained as per infection control.
- Support stock levels/scan and receipt stock.
- Ensure that equipment is clean at all times, stored safely, and faults are reported.
