Summary

Start your career in education with a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship at our friendly village primary school. Gain valuable experience, training and qualifications while making a difference to children's learning.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring individual to begin a career in education while gaining a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification. Working as part of a supportive school team, you will help create a positive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff, helping pupils both inside and outside the classroom while developing your own skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and college study. You will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Duties will include:

  • Supporting pupils individually and in small groups to help them engage with learning activities.
  • Assisting teachers with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities.
  • Preparing and organising learning resources and classroom materials.
  • Supporting the development of literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting an inclusive learning environment.
  • Providing additional support for pupils with learning, emotional or behavioural needs where required.

A key part of the role will involve helping children build confidence, independence and social skills. You will encourage pupils to participate fully in school life and provide support that enables them to achieve their learning goals. You will have the opportunity to listen to children read, assist with educational activities, and help create a nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, valued and supported.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
