Job Description

This role provides essential support to the delivery of Smiths Excellence (SE) training programmes. As an apprentice, you will help with day-to-day tasks such as answering participant questions, assisting with training logistics, running reports, analysing data, and keeping records accurate and up to date. You’ll work closely with the team to help schedule sessions, issue certificates, and support project reviews for Yellow Belt, Green Belt, and Black Belt programmes. A key part of the role is learning how to use the Learning Management System (LMS) to update records, run simple reports, and help maintain data accuracy. This is a great opportunity to develop organisational and communication skills while gaining experience in training administration and process governance.

Duties

Training Administration

  • Support belted training initiatives by contributing to planning, scheduling, and delivery of programmes.
  • Maintain the training calendar on SE SharePoint, including coordination of training schedules and distribution of Workgroup/Mural links.
  • Partner with global teams to align and execute belted training schedules as per the SE training plan.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of training nominations and attendance in SE Tracker.
  • Compile, consolidate, and summarise post-training feedback for reporting purposes.
  • Administer closures of Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt application projects, including document verification, certificate issuance, and completion of required documentation.
  • Support Divisional SE colleagues in scheduling tollgate reviews and project closures for belted programmes.
  • Track and update belted application project documentation.
  • Prepare and upload completed project binders (GB/BB) to SE SharePoint/MS Teams channels.
  • Administer external belt certification processes and integrate externally certified Green Belts into SE records.
  • Update the Full-Time Black Belt tracker and issue BACC certificates upon request.
  • Update belted project termination and leaver status across relevant systems.
  • Administer documentation updates for employee leavers to maintain data integrity.
  • Support updates to the LSS Directory (Black Belt and Green Belt) on SE SharePoint, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Provide administrative support for training activities, including updating trackers with global training details and attendance.
  • Scheduling of training, administering, and completing all other supportive tasks for the booking and running of internal training courses – such as belted training or leadership training to support Divisions.
  • Respond to participant and stakeholder queries on training sessions and SE Academy activities.
  • Carry out any additional tasks required to support the SE training function as needed.
  • Manage dashboard and reporting from SharePoint in terms of SE academy reporting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
