Apprentice
We're looking for an Apprentice to join our Nottingham team. This role combines hands-on experience supporting our Installation Technicians. You'll gain experience across several areas, develop customer service, communication & organisational skills whilst learning about the installation and servicing of gaming and amusement equipment.
Wage
- £15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

- Customer service practitioner (level 2)
Hours
- This is a full-time position, working Monday – Friday. 37 hours 30 minutes a week

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide a professional, friendly and helpful service to customers at all times.
- Represent The Rudd Group positively whilst working on customer sites.
- Develop effective communication skills when dealing with customers, colleagues and suppliers.
- Assist in resolving customer queries by communicating with the appropriate departments.
- Learn how excellent customer service contributes to customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.
Installation & Operational Support
- Assist Installation Technicians with the installation and removal of gaming machines, pool tables and associated equipment.
- Safely load, unload and move equipment using correct manual handling techniques.
- Prepare equipment and vehicles for daily installations.
- Ensure company vehicles are clean, organised and stocked appropriately.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised depot environment.
- Follow all health & safety procedures and safe systems of work.
Business Administration Experience
- As part of the apprenticeship, you will gain experience within other departments including:
- Supporting depot administration.
- Assisting with planning and scheduling installations and removals.
- Contacting customers to arrange installation and removals.
- Learning about licensing requirements and business compliance.
- Supporting customer account administration and debt collection processes.
- Developing an understanding of stock control and depot operations.
- Building knowledge of how different departments work

What You'll Learn
Course Contents
- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

- Apprentices will be allocated a Trainer Assessor and training will be planned and delivered in conjunction with the employer to meet the individual needs of the apprentice. Off-the-job training will follow the time allocations outlined in the Occupational Standard.
- On-the-job and off-the-job training will be delivered in the workplace.
Essential Qualifications
- GCSE in:
- English (grade 4 - 9)
- Maths (grade 4 - 9)

Other Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Applicants should be physically fit and able to meet the physical demands of the role, including assisting with manual handling and the lifting and moving of heavier items where required. Appropriate equipment, training and guidance will be provided to ensure these duties are carried out safely.
