You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an Apprentice MET Technician, you’ll assist and learn across a variety of tasks in the bodyshop, including:
- Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical, trim and non-structural body components
- Learning to diagnose vehicle faults, including basic electrical systems
- Carrying out panel alignment and supporting repairs to manufacturer standards
- Following approved repair methods to ensure vehicles are safe, roadworthy and meet BS10125 quality standards
- Learning to use specialist tools and equipment safely, including welding and soldering under supervision
- Maintaining tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment
- Working alongside experienced technicians while developing your practical skills
- Communicating effectively with your team and contributing to high-quality repairs
