Level 3 Plate Welder Opportunity at Ansaldo Nuclear

Ansaldo Nuclear is offering an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Plate Welder to join their highly skilled team and train as a bespoke welder, working with carbon, stainless, and duplex steels using a range of welding techniques.

Day to Day Tasks

  • Work to a variety of procedures covering TIG, MAG, FCAW, etc.
  • Welding of parts in the following metals: Stainless, Duplex, Carbon, Nickel Chrome, Aluminium & Monel
  • Wide range of thicknesses of plates and sections
  • Working with electric or manual hand tools as required to support the job
  • Interpret and work to MITPs, Route cards, Drawings, Weld Maps and WPS requirements
  • Follow weld maps and record consumables onto weld history sheets
  • Maintain working area to a clean and tidy standard during and at the end of shift
  • Carry out routine checks of welding equipment to ensure that it is in good working order prior to use

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE in:
    • Maths and English (grade 9-5)
  • Level 2 Apprenticeship/qualification in:
    • Welding (grade Pass)

Other Requirements

  • The right candidate must have at least 2 years of welding experience to be eligible for this role.
  • After 3 months, this role will move to shift work 6.00am - 2.00pm and 2.00pm - 10.00pm.
