Level 3 Plate Welder Opportunity at Ansaldo Nuclear
Ansaldo Nuclear is offering an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Plate Welder to join their highly skilled team and train as a bespoke welder, working with carbon, stainless, and duplex steels using a range of welding techniques.
Day to Day Tasks
- Work to a variety of procedures covering TIG, MAG, FCAW, etc.
- Welding of parts in the following metals: Stainless, Duplex, Carbon, Nickel Chrome, Aluminium & Monel
- Wide range of thicknesses of plates and sections
- Working with electric or manual hand tools as required to support the job
- Interpret and work to MITPs, Route cards, Drawings, Weld Maps and WPS requirements
- Follow weld maps and record consumables onto weld history sheets
- Maintain working area to a clean and tidy standard during and at the end of shift
- Carry out routine checks of welding equipment to ensure that it is in good working order prior to use

Essential Qualifications
- GCSE in:
- Maths and English (grade 9-5)
- Level 2 Apprenticeship/qualification in:
- Welding (grade Pass)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other Requirements
- The right candidate must have at least 2 years of welding experience to be eligible for this role.
- After 3 months, this role will move to shift work 6.00am - 2.00pm and 2.00pm - 10.00pm.
