Account Manager — Apprenticeships
East Essex Vocational Training Ltd (EEVT), part of EET Group Holdings
Location: London — hybrid working, 4 days per week in the office
Salary: [£27,500 – £30,000] depending on experience
Hours: Full time, [37.5] hours per week
Reports to: Director
About the role
Our apprentices succeed when three parties are pulling in the same direction: the apprentice, their employer, and their tutor. This role exists to make sure that happens.
As Account Manager you are the single point of contact for a portfolio of employers. You are not delivering the training — you are the person who holds the relationship together, spots problems before they become failures, and makes sure everyone does what they agreed to do. You'll be the first person an employer calls when something isn't right, and the person who quietly makes sure the paperwork, the progress and the promises all line up.
It's a role that needs warmth and backbone in equal measure. Most of the time you'll be building trust, solving problems and making an employer's life easier. Some of the time you'll be telling a busy operations manager that their apprentice hasn't had their off-the-job hours for six weeks and that has to change. Both matter.
What you'll be doing
Owning your employer accounts
- Acting as the named point of contact for a portfolio of employers, building relationships that last beyond a single cohort
- Understanding each employer's business, workforce and pressures well enough to give advice they actually want
- Producing clear monthly updates on apprentice progress — what's on track, what isn't, and what you're doing about it

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Attending and driving employer meetings
- Attending tripartite progress reviews alongside the tutor, leading on employer commitments, actions and next steps
- Chairing regular account reviews covering all apprentices with that employer
- Being in the room for any escalation, concern or difficult conversation, so tutors are never handling those alone
Securing sign-off
- Making sure every progress review and update is signed off by the employer within agreed timescales, with actions recorded against named owners and dates
- Chasing, resolving and — where needed — escalating outstanding sign-offs rather than letting them drift
- Treating sign-off as evidence of a healthy account, not as admin
Resolving underperformance
- Identifying at-risk apprentices early and working out the real cause: apprentice disengagement, employer release time, or delivery quality
- Coordinating with tutors and the quality team on scheduling, additional support or observations where delivery needs attention
- Handling concerns and complaints promptly, and escalating safeguarding matters immediately through the correct route
Growing the account
- Supporting employers with apprentice recruitment: vacancy design, screening, shortlisting and eligibility checks
- Identifying progression and additional training opportunities across the employer's workforce, including funding and cost positions that make training more affordable for them

Who we're looking for
You'll recognise yourself in most of this:
- You're genuinely warm with people and you'd rather solve a problem than win an argument — but you don't confuse being liked with being effective
- You can hold a firm line kindly, put a date on it, and follow it up without anyone feeling ambushed
- You're organised to the point of being slightly annoying about it: actions logged, deadlines tracked, nothing quietly forgotten
- You're comfortable in a room with an employer, a tutor and an apprentice, reading which of them isn't saying what they actually think
- You write clearly and you can explain data to someone who doesn't want to look at a spreadsheet
Experience
- Experience in apprenticeships, work-based learning, skills or a training provider environment is a strong advantage
- Alternatively, account management, employer engagement or client-facing experience where you owned outcomes rather than just relationships
- Working knowledge of apprenticeship delivery — off-the-job requirements, progress reviews, End Point Assessment — or a demonstrable ability to get up to speed quickly
- A full UK driving licence is desirable — the role involves occasional travel to employer sites
EEVT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and safer recruitment checks.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
