An exciting apprenticeship opportunity to work within an innovative and friendly SET CAMHS Eating Disorder team based at Widford Hall in Chelmsford
An Apprenticeship is a programme of work-based learning in which the successful candidate will be working towards an Apprenticeship in Business Administration.
On an Apprenticeship, the post holder works towards their qualification whilst learning a job role or a variety of roles within a department. Working hours will include a percentage of study time which is agreed with the North East London Foundation Trust Training Provider. The aim of the post holder is to acquire the skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications that are required for them to be able to successfully complete their qualification and (after meeting certain criteria) continue effectively within the substantive position.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn how to deliver a client-focused service which promotes good customer care and reduces barriers to communication.
- Demonstrate and maintain positive and effective working relationships.
- Understand and ensure that correct procedures are followed regarding the storing and maintaining of data.
- Learn how to maintain efficient administrative systems by creating, maintaining, filing, archiving data.
- Identify how to transfer and locate missing notes and action as requested by staff.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and ensure data is maintained at all times.
- Learn how to type correspondence, agendas, minutes, papers and reports as required by line manager.
- Identify how to produce and compile system generated letters with minor amendments as requested.
- Understand and demonstrate the importance of highlighting any operational concerns regarding administrative systems that may need reviewing.
- Distribute satisfaction questionnaires and audits as instructed.
- Open and sort post, fax and photocopy as required.
- Cover other teams/services, where necessary, which may require working on other sites.

Front Of House
- Learn how to provide an effective and efficient front of house service.
- Understand how to present a calm and friendly image to clients.
- Monitor and record all visitor details.
- Identify how to respond to frequent general enquiries, either in person or on the telephone, promptly and in a professional and courteous manner whilst recognising barriers to communication.
- Book new and follow up appointments.
- Receive, divert and make telephone calls as required.
- Take clear messages and pass them promptly to the appropriate member of the team.
Computer & Administration
- Learn how to input data onto relevant system.
- Identify how to retrieve reports from record system as requested.
- Liaise with IT Department regarding IT issues as necessary.
- Participate in staff surveys.
- Conduct basic stock checks.
Communication
- Refer non-routine enquiries and matters to others.
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
