Experienced and Passionate Level 5 Development Coach in Health & Social Care
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Level 5 Development Coach in Health & Social Care to join our growing apprenticeship delivery team. This is a full-time position, working four days per week. The salary band is £27,000 to £30,000 per annum, dependant on experience and apprenticeships delivered.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys developing people, building strong relationships with employers and supporting apprentices to achieve their full potential.
As a Development Coach, you will manage a caseload of apprentices undertaking Health & Social Care apprenticeship programmes, providing high-quality coaching, teaching and support throughout their learner journey. You will play a key role in keeping apprentices engaged, progressing and on track for successful completion and End Point Assessment.
You will work closely with both apprentices and their employers, providing personalised support, constructive feedback and clear action planning to help each apprentice develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required within their role.
What you'll be doing:
- Deliver and support Health & Social Care apprenticeship programmes up to Level 5.
- Coach, mentor and motivate apprentices throughout their programme.
- Manage an allocated caseload, ensuring apprentices make strong and consistent progress.
- Build positive and professional relationships with employers and workplace mentors.
- Complete high-quality monthly contact and 12-weekly progress reviews.
- Provide timely, meaningful feedback that supports apprentices to improve and develop.
- Plan individualised learning to meet different learner needs and starting points.
- Support apprentices with Functional Skills in English and maths where required.
- Prepare apprentices effectively for Gateway and End Point Assessment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records using OneFile.
- Identify apprentices who may be falling behind and put appropriate support and action plans in place.
- Promote safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion throughout delivery.
- Participate in team meetings, standardisation, CPD, 1:1s and wider quality improvement activities.

What we're looking for:
Essential
- Strong occupational experience within the Health & Social Care sector.
- Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes within Health & Social Care.
- Experience supporting apprentices at Level 5, or substantial experience delivering higher-level Health & Social Care programmes.
- A minimum of two years' experience within apprenticeships, education or work-based learning.
- An assessor qualification such as D32/33, A1 or TAQA, or equivalent.
- Level 2 English and maths, or equivalent.
- Experience managing a caseload of apprentices and monitoring learner progress.
- Experience working directly with employers and workplace managers.
- Strong coaching, mentoring and communication skills.
- The ability to organise your own workload and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of learner support.

Desirable
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent. We will consider applicants willing to work towards this.
- Experience supporting Functional Skills in English and maths.
- Experience using OneFile or another apprenticeship e-portfolio system.

This role would suit an experienced Development Coach, Trainer/Assessor who is passionate about Health & Social Care and wants to make a genuine difference to apprentices and the organisations they work within.
We are particularly interested in applicants who can combine strong sector knowledge with an engaging and supportive coaching style. You should be comfortable having constructive conversations about progress and performance while developing trusted relationships with apprentices and employers.
