We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance apprentice to join our team
specializing in Finance for our Global Center of Accounts in Darlington, UK. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
Overview of the course:
The Finance Apprentice role is a developmental position within the GCA Finance function. During the apprenticeship you will work 5 days per week in Cummins inclusive of 1 day per week for online study with Kaplan. The working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm (with flexibility to suit business needs) with 3 days in the office, 1 day at home and 1 day online study with Kaplan. On successful completion of the Level 3 AAT qualification, you will progress onto AAT Level 4

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Compiles, consolidates, and conducts basic analysis of accounting and finance information.
- Assists with the production of monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
- Makes accounting adjustments through appropriate journal entries.
- Assists with monthly and annual account reconciliations and close activities.
- Examines a variety of financial statements and transactions for completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with accounting standards. Prepares tables, charts, and other exhibits for reports.
- May perform less complex accounting projects or participate as a team member on more complex projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- You must have obtained an AAT Level 2 or A Level equivalent qualification in Accounting and Finance related field.
- GCSE or equivalent Math’s and English (Grade C/4 or above) with 3 other subjects at grade C/4 or above.
- Proficient IT and MS office skills (including Excel) is essential.
- Good Organisation skills and Excellent Communication skills
