Apprenticeship Funding Manager

Salary: up to £60,000 + benefits

Location: Manchester

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the apprenticeship funding and compliance process across approximately 300 apprentices and £2m of annual funding, ensuring funding is maximized legitimately while maintaining the highest standards of DfE compliance.

Our client is a global training organisation operating across the power and oil & gas industries. They provide a broad range of training solutions, from classroom and digital learning through to sophisticated simulators that provide real-life training experiences in a safe and controlled environment.

With several major training centres across the UK, this role will be based from their Manchester centre.

The Role

As Apprenticeship Funding Manager, you will take ownership of the apprenticeship funding and compliance process, ensuring that the organisation has the systems, data, and evidence required to maximize funding and remain fully compliant with DfE requirements.

You will work closely with employers, operational teams, and Finance, providing confidence that funding is accurately forecast, claimed, and reconciled throughout the learner journey.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in apprenticeship funding, MIS, and compliance
  • Hands-on experience using Maytas, PICS, Bud, or similar MIS systems
  • Strong understanding of ILR submissions, data quality, and DfE/ESFA apprenticeship funding rules
  • Experience managing funding across a significant learner population
  • Experience ensuring learner records are accurate, complete, and funding eligible
  • Understanding of the evidence required to support apprenticeship funding claims
  • Experience working directly with employers to obtain and maintain the required information
  • Ability to identify opportunities to maximize legitimate funding
  • Experience reconciling ILR data with learner enrolments, programmes, and funding
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance activity
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working closely with Finance on new starts, completions, and funding forecasting
  • The confidence to take ownership of the funding process and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business
