About the Role

A fantastic opportunity to kick-start a career in Business Administration in an E-commerce company dealing with ORDER ADMIN. Oadby, Leicester. Online sales (eBay/Amazon/Etsy/websites). NEOTRIMS.com & JANEOBRITISHAPPAREL.com (check them out). Good IT Skills required & social media savvy (Previous Applicants need NOT apply again).

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • IT related order Administration & Management; Using LINNWORKS - Our order management system/software
  • Stock and product administration (Linnworks)
  • Customer Services: Deal with order problems and customer enquiries - Good IT skills are an advantage
  • Well-organised, you will also work daily in the dispatch area to help pack orders and manage the orders (scanning and administration using Linnworks. Purpose being is that you understand the products and problems associated with them as they arise)
  • Social media postings and promoting - Create engaging posts and blogs

Course Contents

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to:

  • write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.

Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.

Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.

Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.

Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms. Uses the most appropriate channels to communicate effectively. Demonstrates agility and confidence in communications, carrying authority appropriately. Understands and applies social media solutions appropriately. Answers questions from inside and outside of the organisation, representing the organisation or department.

Training Schedule

You will get NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration Qualifications by the end of the apprenticeship with option to doing another higher apprenticeship if you wish.

The full apprenticeship will be in-house at the workplace. Our premises are in Oadby, Leicester. You will fully be supported by the employer for day-to-day learning about the job, but simultaneously supported by an approved training provider.

The training provider is government-approved and follows a strict approved training for the apprenticeship type; it will take place in-house 100% via online, over Team's meetings and with personal visits by a dedicated person appointed to you. 20% of the week will be spent on training via the provider, and you will be given this time at work to complete these tasks etc. to submit for evaluation online. The rest 80% of the work is part of daily tasks and learning new skills.

Desirable Qualifications

GCSE in:

  • Maths
  • English (grade 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other Requirements

Work is a variety of desk job and working in the dispatch area to manage orders. Both areas have computer consoles. You will help with packing orders to actually feel and understand the products to help you with your overall understanding of the product. Understanding the Product is key to marketing functions and the ability to advise correct information to customers - all this is ONLY possible when you are involved with the product.

Learning the Software called LINNWORKS is the core of your training; it manages our entire online business from start to finish, every task and action is integrated into this software.

So: a combination of practical shopfloor experience and involvement in the dispatch section on daily basis as well as desk orientated tasks are part of the role.

We are a e commerce company selling fashion and textiles to B2C and B2B. We sell on Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Our own websites. (It’s vital you look these up under our two brands and do research which should reflect on your application)

But look these brands up on eBay / Amazon / Etsy also. We also use a e commerce software called Linnworks; please review this and reflect yoir understanding of this in your application. We are a company of 30 years standing, family owned, and have evolved from manufacturing only for B2B to where we are today. We sell globally across on international channels on ebay and amazon.

After the apprenticeship, we hope to take on the person on a permanent basis in our organisation, in a specific job role, having gained invaluable experience over the 12/18 months.

This job role will depend on where the strengths of the individual lie. Complete order management, for example.

Further courses are possible to attain a higher qualification whilst working us also if the individual wants to progress.
