The Electrical Academy is Kent’s leading skills training center for the electrical industry, offering a wide range of City & Guilds courses for aspiring and experienced electricians. The Academy supports individuals at all stages of their careers, from those just beginning in the trade to professionals seeking technical updates and qualifications. As an NET-approved testing facility for AM2 and AM2S, it provides recognised assessment routes that align with industry standards. Learners benefit from practical, career-focused training, expert instructors, and a supportive environment designed to help them progress in the electrical sector.
Role Description
The Apprenticeship Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Maidstone, responsible for overseeing the delivery and performance of electrical apprenticeship programs. The role involves managing the apprentice lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, progress reviews, and successful completion of qualifications. The Apprenticeship Manager will coordinate with instructors, employers, and external bodies to ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards and funding requirements.

Day-to-day tasks include:

- Monitoring learner outcomes
- Resolving issues
- Maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to continuous improvement of curricula and learner support
The role also includes promoting apprenticeship opportunities, building partnerships with employers, and ensuring that teaching and assessment activities align with industry and regulatory expectations.
Qualifications
- Experience managing apprenticeship or vocational training programs, ideally within the electrical or wider construction/technical sectors.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including learner tracking, documentation, and compliance with funding and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with apprentices, employers, trainers, and external partners.
- Ability to coach and support learners, with a focus on safeguarding, inclusion, and positive achievement outcomes.
- Knowledge of City & Guilds qualifications, apprenticeship standards, and assessment processes such as AM2/AM2S is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with basic IT tools and learning management systems for reporting, scheduling, and data management.
- Experience in education, training, or apprenticeship coordination; a background in the electrical industry or teaching/assessing is an advantage.
- Relevant qualification in education, training, or management (e.g., teaching/assessing qualification or vocational training certificate) preferred.
