Job Title: Apprenticeship Skills Coach and Trade Lecturer (Carpentry and Property Maintenance)

Location: South East London

Working Pattern: Full-Time (3 Days Workplace Coaching, 2 Days Classroom Teaching)

Salary: GBP33,762 - GBP44,027

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a prominent college group in South East London to find a passionate trade expert who can teach, coach, and guide the next generation of apprentices. In this unique dual-capacity position, you will spend two days sharing your expertise in Property Maintenance within a supportive campus environment and three days out in the field mentoring Carpentry apprentices across local employer settings. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and facilitate engaging classroom and practical workshop sessions for Property Maintenance Operations (PMO) apprentices two days per week.
  • Serve as a dedicated Carpentry Skills Coach three days per week, visiting apprentices in their workplaces and conducting progress reviews on campus or online.
  • Carry out initial learner assessments, establish individual learning plans, and continuously track progress toward End-Point Assessment (EPA) gateways.
  • Conduct dynamic assessments, provide constructive feedback, and ensure apprentices document their required on-and-off-the-job training.
  • Build strong relationships with local employers and line managers to align workplace opportunities with qualification frameworks.
  • Maintain accurate electronic administrative records and monitor timely success rates in accordance with college quality systems.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications and Experience: A minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Carpentry or Property Maintenance, backed by at least 5 years of recent, hands-on industry experience. Level 2 (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent) in English and Maths. A teaching qualification (PTTLS minimum) or assessor award (TAQA/A1/D32/D33) is desirable, or a willingness to work towards them.

Characteristics: Outstanding communication skills, strong administration habits for record-keeping, and an approachable, patient mentoring style.

Transport and Commute: A full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle are required for visiting apprentices at local workplace sites.
