About Our Apprentice Programme

Our Apprentice Programme allows you to begin your career within a global, innovative organisation while contributing to meaningful projects. We offer competitive rates and a clear pathway to long-term career success.

We are currently recruiting Apprentices for our head office in Portobello, Willenhall (WV13 3PW), home to a large manufacturing facility and key business support functions. As a global leader in access solutions, we provide Apprenticeship opportunities in the following areas:

  • Engineering – Support improvements to assembly and primary processes, assist with automation initiatives, and apply engineering principles such as Flow, TAKT and Value Analysis to reduce operational costs.
  • Quality – Play a key role in enhancing products, processes, and systems with a focus on reducing the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) and defective parts.
  • Procurement – Develop commercial skills by supporting supplier negotiations to secure cost-effective, high-quality materials that support product performance and profitability.
  • Marketing – Contribute to strengthening the ASSA ABLOY brand across digital and social channels, enhancing awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth.
  • Sales – Build the foundation for a future career in sales by developing key business acumen skills and supporting the continued growth of product sales.
  • Business Development – Support initiatives that drive strategic growth and new business opportunities.
  • IT – Provide an excellent level of 1st line support to end users for any IT related issues as efficiently and effectively as possible.
  • Customer Services – Manage customer orders and enquiries, ensuring a professional, efficient, and solution-focused service that reflects our commitment to excellence.
  • Technical Support / Service – Providing customer-focused technical support across software and hardware access control products, including troubleshooting via phone and helpdesk tickets.

As an Apprentice, You Will:

  • Learn from experienced colleagues

During Your Apprenticeship, You Will Be Expected To:

  • Attend relevant training or college sessions to meet academic requirements
  • Manage and prioritise your own daily workload
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

We Are Looking For Individuals Who:

  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in their chosen field
  • Are enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Hold equivalent GCSE Grades 9–4 in Maths and English
  • Are self-motivated with strong organisational skills
  • Have a logical, methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Show excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Can work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
