Our Group Exercise Instructors get our customers moving. With timetables packed full of a diverse range of classes, as a Southwark Leisure Class Instructor, you will welcome all customers, design and deliver high-quality classes and ensure all participant’s individual needs and abilities are catered for. Instructors are expected to stay up-to-date on knowledge pertaining to group fitness topics and educational and safety standards.
As an Aqua Aerobics Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering safe, fun, and effective water-based fitness classes for members of all ages and abilities. The instructor will create an engaging and inclusive environment, motivate participants to achieve their fitness goals, and ensure all classes are conducted in line with health, safety, and pool operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
- Plan and deliver high-quality aqua aerobics classes.
- Provide clear instruction, motivation, and exercise modifications to suit varying fitness levels.
- Ensure participant safety and monitor correct exercise techniques.
- Create a welcoming and enjoyable class atmosphere.
- Maintain professional standards and positive member relationships.
- Follow all pool safety, health, and company policies.

- Create a positive and welcoming class environment that motivates and engages residents.
- Lead group sessions confidently, ensuring participants feel supported and included.
- Build strong relationships with class members to encourage ongoing participation.
- Deliver energetic and engaging classes that inspire residents to become more active.
- Demonstrate reliability and professionalism in all aspects of instruction.
- Show passion for health, fitness, and community wellbeing.
- Motivate and encourage participants to achieve their activity and wellbeing goals.
- Promote member retention by providing enjoyable experiences that encourage residents to return regularly.
- Foster a sense of community and belonging within each class.
- Recognised Group Exercise or Aqua Aerobics qualification.

- Job type – Permanent and Casuals
- Will be required to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet the needs of the service.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
