Accounts Receivable Manager

This is a hands-on Accounts Receivable Manager position responsible for overseeing the end-to-end receivables process, driving cash collection performance, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The role will focus on improving processes, reducing aged debt, and working closely with internal stakeholders to support strong cash flow and operational efficiency.

Description

AR Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring priorities are effectively coordinated and team objectives are consistently achieved
  • Take ownership of the invoicing cycle, ensuring billing is processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with agreed customer arrangements
  • Administer contractual billing changes, including renewals, pricing reviews, account amendments, credits, and terminations
  • Assess customer agreements and commercial documentation to ensure billing accuracy, correct revenue recognition, and adherence to agreed terms
  • Oversee sales ledger activities, including reconciliations, cash posting, payment processing, and investigation of account discrepancies
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to resolve invoice-related issues and improve cash conversion
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and improve the overall efficiency of billing and receivables operations
  • Lead month-end accounts receivable activities, ensuring reconciliations, controls, and reporting are completed within agreed deadlines
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in line with internal procedures, financial regulations, and best practice standards, while supporting wider finance initiatives when required
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required

A Successful AR Manager Should Have

  • Previous experience within Accounts Receivable, Billing, Revenue Operations, or Sales Ledger
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate finance teams
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using ERP, finance, and CRM systems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Solid understanding of core financial controls, reconciliations, and accounts receivable
