ARB GROUNDSPERSON / GROUNDSMAN

Join the BROWNS Team

📍 Great Brickhill, Milton Keynes
💷 £25,000 - £36,000 per year (depending on experience & qualifications)
🕒 Full Time | Monday-Friday | Permanent

BROWNS is looking for a Groundsperson / Groundsman to join our growing tree surgery team. Ideally, we're looking for someone with previous arboricultural experience and relevant industry qualifications who understands how important a good ground operation is to a successful tree team.

However, we're also keen to hear from arb students, recent college leavers and trainees looking for the opportunity to gain practical experience and build a long-term career in the industry.

About Us

BROWNS is an established, family-run arboricultural contractor based in Great Brickhill, Milton Keynes. With over 30 years' experience, we provide professional tree care and arboricultural services to domestic, commercial and public-sector clients across Buckinghamshire, surrounding counties and further afield.

The Opportunity

A good Groundsperson is a key part of every successful tree surgery team. For an experienced candidate, we're looking for someone who can take ownership of the ground operation, anticipate what the climber and team need and help keep sites safe, organised and running efficiently.

You'll work alongside our climbers and wider team across a varied mix of tree work, with opportunities to develop your skills, qualifications and responsibilities as you progress with BROWNS. For those earlier in their career, we're happy to provide the right person with the training, experience and support needed to develop.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We're also interested in people who are currently studying or have recently completed an Arboriculture course, such as at Moulton College or another land-based college, and are looking for a work placement or their first permanent industry position.
