Location: Remote working, with travel to client sites and periodic attendance at our Manchester and/or Sheffield offices.

Cura Terrae Land and Nature is looking for a motivated Graduate Arboriculture Consultant to join our growing Arboriculture team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop technical skills, gain practical consultancy experience and contribute to a wide range of planning, development and land management projects across the UK. The role offers hands-on experience in arboricultural surveys, reporting and project delivery, while working alongside experienced consultants in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role

  • Assist with tree surveys, inspections and data collection in accordance with industry standards.
  • Support the preparation of Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Arboricultural Method Statements, Tree Protection Plans and tree risk assessments.
  • Produce accurate technical reports under the supervision of senior consultants.
  • Develop knowledge of BS5837, planning legislation and arboricultural best practice.
  • Maintain accurate project records, survey information and timesheets.
  • Support Arboricultural Clerk of Works inspections where required.
  • Assist in delivering projects to agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, local authorities, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams across the wider business.
  • Follow company Health & Safety procedures and support the preparation of site-specific risk assessments.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree, or expected degree, in Arboriculture, Forestry, Environmental Management, Ecology or a related discipline.
  • An understanding of arboricultural principles and relevant UK legislation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Membership of, or willingness to work towards membership of, the Arboricultural Association is desirable.
  • Experience of field surveying or data capture using digital devices would be beneficial.
  • Basic tree climbing knowledge, experience or certification would be desirable.
