Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Arborist role based in Epsom, with work carried out across London and the south east of England. The Arborist will perform day-to-day tree surgery tasks such as pruning, crown reduction, felling, and removal, as well as assisting with planting, stump grinding, and site clearances.

  • Assessing tree condition
  • Identifying species
  • Supporting arboricultural reports
  • Following safe working practices and industry standards
  • Operating and maintaining chainsaws, chippers, and other equipment
  • Managing ropes and rigging
  • Ensuring work sites are left clean and safe
  • Collaborating with team members
  • Communicating professionally with clients
  • Following company procedures and health and safety guidelines

Qualifications

  • Strong arboricultural knowledge, including Arboriculture and Certified Arborist credentials or equivalent experience.
  • Practical experience with Trees and Tree Identification in urban and suburban environments.
  • Background in Forestry or related land-based disciplines, with understanding of tree health and structure.
  • Relevant tickets such as chainsaw operation (e.g., CS30/31 or equivalent), use of wood chippers, and climbing/rescue qualifications are highly beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations, safe work at height practices, and risk assessment on active work sites.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, perform physically demanding tasks, and handle equipment safely.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills, with a professional approach to client interactions.
  • Valid UK driving license is highly desirable; prior experience in tree surgery or arboricultural contracting is an advantage.
