ARB Qualified Architect – Education, SEND & Interiors
London Bridge | Hybrid
If you’re an Architect who likes design, but gets equally excited about how the hell we’re actually going to build it, keep reading.
mustard are working with a growing multidisciplinary design and project consultancy based near London Bridge, working across Interior Design, Architecture, Project Management and Cost Consultancy.
They're looking for an ARB-qualified Architect to join their London team, with a particular focus on a growing portfolio of Education and SEND Interior Projects.
What makes it interesting?
The work is heavily focused on refurbishment, adaptation and existing buildings.
The team needs someone who can bring strong technical knowledge to interiors-led projects — particularly around Building Regulations, fire safety, accessibility and compliance.
You'll be the person asking:
- Can we actually build this?
- Does it comply?
- What are we missing?
And then working with the designers to find a solution that doesn't kill the design in the process.
What you'll be doing
- Developing creative ideas into coordinated, technically resolved designs
- Reviewing and producing architectural and technical information
- Applying Building Regulations and statutory requirements
- Working through fire and life safety considerations
- Reviewing existing buildings and refurbishment constraints
- Supporting Education and SEND projects
- Coordinating with clients, consultants and contractors
- Identifying technical issues early and finding practical solutions
- Supporting projects through technical delivery

You'll work closely with the Interior Design, Project Management and Cost Consultancy teams, so you'll get a genuinely joined-up view of how projects are designed and delivered.
What we're looking for
You'll need:
- ARB qualification
- 3+ years post-qualification experience
- Strong Education experience, ideally including SEND
- Refurbishment / adaptation experience
- Good knowledge of Building Regulations and compliance
- Understanding of fire and life safety
- Experience producing and coordinating technical information
- Good knowledge of planning and listed building consent
- AutoCAD + SketchUp
- A genuine interest in interiors, materials and detailing
You don't need to be the finished article. You do need to be technically confident, design-minded and pragmatic.
The team
It's a relatively small, close-knit London team, so you'll have plenty of opportunity to contribute beyond your immediate role.
You'll be encouraged to share knowledge, support more junior team members and get involved in improving how the business works as it grows.
And while Education and SEND will be the immediate focus, the wider business works across health, fitness, wellness and other sectors, so there's plenty of scope to broaden your experience.
It's a friendly team too — personality and a sense of humour are genuinely welcome.
