Architect Opportunity in Birmingham
A well-established UK architecture practice is hiring an Architect for its Birmingham studio. This is a design-led role where you’ll help take briefs, develop schemes, present ideas, and drive projects through the early stages.
This will suit you if you enjoy the front end of architecture but don’t want to be boxed into concept work only. You’ll work mainly across RIBA Stages 0-3, with the chance to stay involved through delivery too.
Why this Architect role in Birmingham stands out:
- You’ll take on a key design role in the team
- You’ll work across a varied project mix, with residential experience especially useful
- You’ll have the backing of a large national practice, but within a friendly studio environment
- You’ll join a team that values fit, collaboration and long-term retention

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
