Fereday Pollard & Partners - Senior Architect/Project Architect
Fereday Pollard & Partners is looking for a Senior Architect or passionate Project Architect to join our London Southwark studio to work on the development stages (RIBA 0-4) for the consent and delivery of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) in the water sector.
This role would suit an experienced architect who enjoys delivering high-quality design solutions and consents within the DCO and/or TWAO regime. Candidates must have exemplary concept/developed design, presentation, and communication skills and be capable of articulating the multifaceted challenges of scale and complexity associated with NSIPs in a clear and engaging way. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful collaboration within external, engineering-led multidisciplinary architecture and landscape teams to deliver complex, contextual & landscape-led design solutions.

The Role
Supported by the Major Projects Director and Associates, you will be part of a team developing and delivering architecture and landscape design services for NSIPs within the water sector. This may include water supply, waste, treatment, or flood management schemes. Projects may vary widely in location.

- Lower Thames Crossing DCO and Client/PM Services (Post-contract award)

This is a full-time, 80% office-based role in our London Southwark studio.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead exemplary architecture design within a major project environment
- Advocate for and champion the importance of good design within project teams, client bodies, and external stakeholders
- The capacity and ability to assimilate and understand the complex technical requirements, site-based constraints, and scale of unusual major projects - and then articulate the design opportunities therein through clearly defined concepts
- A collaborative and investigatory approach

About You
- Qualified with ARB/RIBA Chartered Professional Membership for Architecture
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills with attention to detail
- Exemplary interpersonal communication and compelling presentation skills
- Organised, reliable, and comfortable leading and managing multiple tasks
- Passion for infrastructure, climate resilience, cities, and the public realm
- Urban design scale experience of strategic level studies advantageous
- Willing to learn and contribute as part of a collaborative studio
Desirable
- Experience within the Water and/or Utilities Sector
- Good profile within the infrastructure design sector
- Experience of 3D Microstation (Open Buildings Designer) and Projectwise
