Architect & Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Architect & Project Manager with a strong background in UK residential developments to join our in-office team. In this dual role, you will steer schemes from inception through to delivery, with a heavy emphasis on front-end local authority planning strategy, statutory approvals, and managing clients across the full RIBA Plan of Work (Stages 0–7).
You will act as the core liaison between our design studio, external consultants, local planning authorities (LPAs), and contractors, ensuring high-quality design, planning viability, and on-time project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Approvals (RIBA Stages 1–3): Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of planning applications (full, outline, reserved matters, listed building, and discharge of conditions) for residential schemes.
- Full-Lifecycle Project Delivery: Manage project timelines, deliverables, resource allocations, and stage gates across all RIBA Stages (feasibility, technical design, tender, construction, handover).
- Technical Compliance: Coordinate building control compliance, UK Building Regulations (including Parts L, O, and fire safety protocols), and the Building Safety Act framework.
- Consultant & Contractor Coordination: Lead multi-disciplinary project teams (structural, MEP, daylight/sunlight, ecology, highways), chairs progress meetings, and manage RFIs.
- Client & Commercial Management: Serve as the direct client contact, issuing stage reports, monitoring budgets, defining project scopes, and mitigating delivery risks.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Accreditation: Registered Architect, or qualified Project Manager with a formal architectural background
- UK Residential Expertise: Proven track record delivering bespoke private dwellings, multi-unit schemes, conversions, or urban residential regeneration.
- RIBA Framework Mastery: In-depth working knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work and UK contract administration (e.g., JCT contracts).
- Planning Law & Policy Knowledge: Strong command of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), London Plan (or relevant regional policy), Permitted Development rights, and local residential design guides.
- Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, Revit, alongside Adobe Creative Suite and project programming tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
- Location Requirement: Fully based in-office at Slough/Reading

Desirable Attributes
- Experience dealing with complex conservation areas, Heritage statements, or Class E conversions.
- Demonstrable experience acting as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent.
- Strong commercial acumen and fee proposal preparation skills.
