Job Description

Perkins&Will London is currently recruiting a recently qualified Architect to join our creative studio.

We are an award-winning international design firm and industry leaders in commitment to sustainable design. Our London office is established as one of the most successful design firms in the UK and Europe, delivering a wide range of professional design services including corporate interiors, strategic workplace consultancy services, new build architecture, large-scale urban design and planning development and hospitality.

Design & Creative Thinking

  • Develop strong, original design ideas in response to brief, context and purpose.
  • Lead elements of the design process independently, bringing clarity and direction to early-stage thinking.
  • Translate concepts into compelling diagrams, models, drawings and presentations.
  • Contribute actively to design reviews and critiques, sharing ideas and helping elevate the work of others.
  • Balance creativity with feasibility, performance and impact.

Project Delivery & Technical Coordination

  • Take ownership of design packages, drawing sets and coordination tasks across project stages.
  • Work proactively with consultants and collaborators to align technical and design decisions.
  • Help manage project schedules, scopes and deliverables, ensuring clarity and consistency across the team.
  • Contribute to client meetings, reports and presentations.
  • Support construction phase services, including RFIs and site visits, helping ensure design quality is realised on site.
  • Develop a strong understanding of contractual responsibilities, deliverables and project obligations.
  • Apply knowledge of building systems, regulations and standards with confidence.

Business Development & Studio Representation

  • Support bids, competitions and proposals through strong drawings, narratives and visual content.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, building positive relationships and trust.
  • Understand project and client needs and identify opportunities where the studio can add value.

Studio Culture & Team Contribution

  • Bring reliability, initiative and a collaborative approach to studio life.
  • Support and share knowledge with junior team members.
  • Communicate openly and effectively across disciplines and project teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, forums and initiatives that support design, culture and sustainability.
  • Help foster a positive, inclusive and accountable project environment based on clear communication and mutual respect.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • RIBA Part 3 qualification or equivalent professional registration (ARB or international equivalent).
  • Experience working across multiple stages of architectural projects.
  • Strong design and visual communication skills.
  • Good understanding of technical design, building systems, regulations and construction.
  • Experience coordinating with consultants and wider project teams.
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and work proactively with an appropriate level of independence.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working across disciplines.
  • An interest in sustainable, socially responsible and high-quality design.

Software & Digital Skills

  • Revit – modelling, documentation and design coordination.
  • Rhino + Grasshopper – design development and parametric exploration.
  • Adobe Creative Suite – particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Enscape and/or V-Ray – visualisation and presentation.
  • Microsoft Office – project coordination, reporting and presentations.
  • Environmental design tools, such as Ladybug and ClimateStudio.
  • Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting and physical model-making is welcomed.

Licensure/Certifications/Education:

  • Professional Degree in Architecture
  • LEED GA within 6 months of hire
  • Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, CPHC/CPHE Passive House Institute Certified Passive House, or RELi AP
  • Continuing professional development per professional registrations
