Company Description

Cameron Bosque Brookes Architects Limited is an established, design-led RIBA Chartered practice with offices in London, Cambridge, and St Ives (Huntingdon). The practice provides comprehensive architectural design services to a diverse client base, including commercial developers, building contractors, public organizations, homeowners, and self-builders. Projects range from housing, restaurants, hotels, and retail units to offices, mixed-use developments, farms, barns, schools, and sports pavilions. Team members benefit from exposure to varied sectors, scales, and design challenges within a collaborative studio environment.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a design-led Architect based at our St Ives office (hybrid positions available for the right candidate). The Architect will develop design concepts, produce drawings and specifications, and coordinate architectural packages from early feasibility through to detailed design and construction. The Architect will work closely with colleagues to maintain design quality across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with experience delivering projects across multiple RIBA stages 0-7 at various scales.
  • Ability to manage project workflows using Project Management skills, including planning, coordination, and communication with stakeholders.
  • UK driving license
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software (e.g., ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and competency in producing clear technical drawings.
  • Must be living within 1 hour's travel commute to our St Ives, Cambridgeshire office
  • Experience with dealing with clients directly and being able to run architectural projects
  • Good base level of technical design ability
  • Contract Administration experience a plus but not essential
  • Relevant architectural degree and professional qualifications; ARB registration (min 3 years post qualified) and/or RIBA chartered status are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations, planning processes, and construction methods.
  • Strong visual, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to clients and project teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment, manage multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail under time constraints.
  • Experience or ability to be able to manage junior members of staff
  • Ambitious and hard-working (potential for climbing up the ladder within the company)
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to lead a design team and speak confidently with a client is a must
