Grimshaw is a place of ideas. For over 40 years we've delivered pioneering, precedent-setting award-winning designs: work that's innately attuned to place, people and planet, and resolves complexity with rigour. We're looking for talented, engaged architects to bring that same purpose to our London studio in Clerkenwell, working on large-scale infrastructure projects.
People are at the heart of what we do: in the projects we deliver, the studios we build and the communities we shape together. We've built a reputation for convivial, democratic studios where creativity and innovation are actively encouraged from every member of staff, because we know our best work comes from talented, diverse and committed people who help shape where we go next.
With over 500 people and more than 50 nationalities represented across seven studios worldwide, you'll be part of a genuinely global practice, with real opportunities to collaborate with colleagues overseas on work that matters. We're proud of our inclusive approach and equal opportunities offer, and we want you to have the freedom to be creative, to challenge yourself, and to grow, whatever your background or route into architecture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
