Architectural Assistant / Junior Technical Designer
We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically capable Architectural Assistant / Junior Technical Designer to join a growing workplace design and build fit-out business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical design and project delivery experience within a fast-paced commercial interiors environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the design, project management and construction teams, supporting the delivery of workplace fit-out projects from initial design development through to construction and completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the production and development of technical drawings and design information using Revit.
- Support the design team in developing workplace interiors from concept through to technical design and construction.
- Produce detailed GA drawings, layouts, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans and construction details.
- Assist with the coordination of architectural, interior design, MEP and other specialist information.
- Develop and maintain accurate Revit models and drawing packages throughout the project lifecycle.
- Incorporate design changes and respond to project requirements, RFIs and technical queries.
- Assist with reviewing drawings and information for accuracy, coordination and buildability.
- Liaise with designers, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders as required.
- Support site teams with technical information and help resolve design and coordination issues during construction.
- Assist with material, finish and product selections and incorporate these into design information where required.
- Maintain drawing registers, revisions and other project documentation.
- Contribute to ensuring projects are delivered to the required design, quality and programme standards.

Experience & Skills
- Previous experience within an architectural, interior design, technical design or fit-out environment.
- Strong Revit skills are essential, with the ability to produce and develop coordinated technical drawings and models.
- Ideally, experience working on commercial workplace fit-out projects or a strong understanding of workplace interiors.
- Good understanding of architectural and interior construction detailing.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications and technical information.
- Understanding of construction processes, materials and buildability.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to producing technical information.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary design and delivery team.
- Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Relevant architectural, interior design or technical design qualification is desirable but not essential.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is technically minded, detail-oriented and keen to develop their career within workplace design and build. You will ideally have some previous exposure to commercial interiors or workplace fit-out and be confident using Revit to produce high-quality technical information.
This role would suit an Architectural Assistant, Part 2 Architectural Assistant, Junior Technical Designer or Junior Interior Designer looking to gain further hands-on experience across the design and delivery of workplace fit-out projects.
