Criterion Capital is actively looking to employ a Part 2 Architectural Assistant working towards ARB accreditation.

The Assistant will work closely with the Project Lead to develop their skillset on hotel conversion projects. We believe in nurturing talent and mentoring them to take on greater challenges and responsibilities.

Working closely with the acquisitions team, the construction team, and the hotel and residential operational teams, this is an opportunity for candidates to understand and gain experience of the wider context of property development, construction, and operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • An eye for good design and an interest in property development and/or the hospitality industry.
  • Interest in developing their detail/technical design skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An understanding of and/or interest in construction technologies and UK building regulations.
  • Be proactive and willing to work autonomously.
  • An inquisitive mind and willingness to learn and progress their careers.
  • To provide an appropriate level of design, drafting, technical, and administrative input at all stages on a range of architectural projects, big and small.
  • To undertake the required job administration on projects you are responsible for under the direction of the project lead.
  • Assist with the appointment of consultants.
  • Coordinate the design to ensure it is cost-effective and buildable.
  • Liaise with the design team as well as our in-house construction and hotel/residential operations arms.
  • Follow Health and Safety and Quality Assurance procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
