Your new company

Hays are delighted to be representing a respected architecture and surveying practice in their search for an Architectural CAD Technician to support a prestigious long-term project within a major UK Government department. This is a unique opportunity to be based on-site within one of Westminster's most recognisable and historically significant buildings, working across a substantial property portfolio that includes landmark and heritage assets of national importance.

Your new role

Working client-side, you will play a key role in the management, organisation and maintenance of a large archive of building information and technical drawings. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing existing drawing records, updating and amending documentation, and helping to ensure that accurate, organised and up-to-date information is maintained across a diverse property portfolio.

This position would suit an experienced and highly organised CAD professional who enjoys working autonomously, has exceptional attention to detail, and takes satisfaction in bringing structure and clarity to complex drawing archives.

  • Reviewing, organising and maintaining extensive archives of architectural and building drawings
  • Updating and amending existing AutoCAD drawings to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Managing drawing records and supporting document control processes
  • Identifying discrepancies, gaps or outdated information within existing records
  • Producing new drawings and revisions where required
  • Supporting the wider project team with technical drawing and design-related tasks
  • Ensuring drawing standards and information management procedures are consistently maintained
  • Liaising remotely with the architecture and surveying practice's office-based team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
