Architectural Technician
Location: Perth

Pettigrew Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with one of Perthshire’s leading construction businesses to appoint an Architectural Technician for their expanding Design Office in Perth. This role offers the chance to work across a diverse project portfolio—including agricultural, commercial, industrial and residential schemes - while contributing to high-quality, practical design solutions from initial concept through to completion.
The Role:
As an Architectural Technician, you will play an integral role in delivering technical design services that are compliant, practical, and aligned with client expectations. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, Local Authorities, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure all design information is produced accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing Proposal, Planning, Building Warrant, and Construction Issue drawings.
- Developing design solutions that comply with current Building Standards.
- Preparing detailed CAD drawings and 3D models.
- Managing design documentation (incoming and outgoing).
- Advising on regulatory, statutory, and environmental requirements.
- Supporting senior managers during client meetings and presentations.
- Preparing construction drawings for site teams.
- Liaising with subcontractors and external stakeholders.
- Conducting site inspections and surveys.
- Assisting with Health & Safety documentation and O&M manuals.

About You:
You will be an organized, collaborative, and technically capable individual with a strong eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
We’re Looking For:
- HNC/HND in Architectural Design, Architectural Technology, or similar.
- Proven experience across commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
- Essential: Steel frame design experience.
- Strong CAD skills; 3D modeling experience highly advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
