Role: Architectural Technician

Location: Birmingham

Work Pattern: Hybrid Working (2/3 Days)

Pay: £28 - £33 per hour

Contract: 12-Months


Job Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join a leading design and construction team on a 12-month contract based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically focused professional with strong RIBA Stage 3-4 experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and coordinate detailed technical drawings and construction packages.
  • Deliver projects through RIBA Stage 3-4.
  • Develop and maintain accurate BIM models and drawing sets.
  • Liaise with architects, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • Support the coordination and resolution of technical design issues.
  • Work collaboratively to meet project deadlines and quality requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years as an Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering projects through RIBA Stage 3-4.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit.
  • Experience producing detailed technical and construction drawings.
  • Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, healthcare, or education projects.
  • Knowledge of BIM coordination processes and standards.
  • Experience collaborating with contractors during the construction phase.
  • CIAT membership or relevant industry accreditation.
  • Previous experience working within a hybrid project delivery environment.
