About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with an award-winning medium-sized regional developer based in Livingston. The role of Architect / Architectural Technician will be very varied and diverse, working within the Technical dept you will be closely working with the rest of the team along with external Architectural and Engineering consultants to bring early design and approvals though the relevant Planning and Building Warrant systems.
Ideal Candidate
Ideally the successful candidate will:
- Have new build housing and flatted experience within both the Residential and Social housing sectors.
- Highly proficient in AutoCAD / Revit and good level of IT literacy with Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and associated Microsoft packages.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Scottish Building Regulations / NHBC regulations / HFvN Standards.
- Sound understanding of Construction detailing.
- Be able to work efficiently and accurately with minimum supervision.
- Show initiative, motivation, responsibility and commitment.
- Knowledge of Project Vault drawing system would be preferred, but not essential.
- Embrace the company’s core values.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage members of the project team including chairing design team meetings with external consultants and delivering the projects in line with the project program.
- Work to drive out abortive design costs with earlier appointments of consultants and sub-contractors, value engineering as required.
- Take control over all in-house Building Warrant submissions and respond in a timeous manner to meet the Strategic Program.
- Ensure that the approvals, Planning, Building Warrant, RCC etc. meet the current project plan.
- Liaise with and produce documentation for the statutory approval authorities.
- Respond to site queries and resolve technical and / or construction issues through the Technical Dept.
- Ensure that all matters raised are dealt with and thoroughly closed off.
- Attending and chairing Pre-start Meetings and briefing all departments on matters relating to the engineering and contract drawings.
- Attend site meetings as required and contribute to the monthly site Project Review meetings, including both residential and housing association projects.
- Co-ordinate consultants to deliver the house type working drawings and liaise with our key suppliers to provide ancillary information for tender and construction purposes, including the checking of such drawings / schedules.
- Prepare drawings and details as required as part of the Building Warrant or Construction stage.
- Assist with the development of our Standard House Type Range along with continual design improvements.
- Manage, control and implement standard designs within our house type range.
- Train and develop current team members.
- Assist with the production of the Sales brochure material and attend the handover meetings.
- Assist with the administration of the Technical Dept.

Salary
Salary would be agreed depending on experience
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm
- Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
