Location: St Albans

Salary: GBP32,000 to GBP40,000

A well-established, design-driven architectural practice in St Albans is seeking an Architectural Technician to join its growing team. The studio is known for thoughtful, client-focused design and delivering technically precise projects. Working across all RIBA stages, the practice specialises in high-quality residential and mixed-use schemes. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a technician to take on meaningful responsibility in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Role

  • Oversee the technical development of residential and mixed-use projects from planning through to completion
  • Produce detailed drawing packages and comprehensive construction information
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects comply with regulatory and technical standards
  • Support project delivery across all RIBA work stages
  • Collaborate with senior team members to resolve construction details and technical challenges

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
  • Experience in a UK architectural practice in a technical role
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and contemporary construction methods
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; skills in Photoshop and InDesign are an advantage
  • Experience contributing to large-scale residential projects
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and coordination skills
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach to technical problem solving
