Architectural Technologist

Are you an ambitious Architectural Technologist looking to join an established, award-winning multidisciplinary practice with an impressive portfolio of projects across the North West and beyond?

We are currently recruiting for an Architectural Technologist to join a collaborative architectural team in Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically focused professional to work across a diverse range of projects, contributing from early design development through to technical delivery and construction.

The practice has a long-standing reputation for combining technical excellence, creative design and multidisciplinary collaboration, working across sectors including education, healthcare, leisure and culture, emergency services, industrial, commercial, residential and heritage projects. The architectural team works closely with structural engineering and quantity surveying colleagues, providing an integrated approach to project delivery.

The Role

As an Architectural Technologist, you will play an important role in developing and delivering high-quality technical design information, working closely with architects, consultants, contractors and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

  • Produce high-quality technical drawings, details, specifications and schedules.
  • Develop projects from concept and planning through to detailed design and construction.
  • Prepare accurate and coordinated information for project delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with architects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors and external consultants.
  • Assist with the coordination of technical information across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant UK Building Regulations, legislation and technical standards.
  • Contribute to BIM and digital design processes, including Revit-based project delivery.
  • Attend site visits and assist with resolving technical issues during construction.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and consultants to help ensure projects are delivered effectively.
  • Assist with planning, building regulations and other statutory submissions where required.
  • Contribute to design development, technical problem-solving and buildability.
  • Maintain a high standard of accuracy, quality and attention to detail throughout project delivery.

Requirements

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology.
  • Previous experience within an architectural practice or construction/design environment.
  • Strong post degree experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge and an understanding of UK construction methods.
  • Good working knowledge of UK Building Regulations.
  • Experience producing detailed architectural drawings and technical information.
  • Competent use of Revit and other relevant architectural design software.
  • An understanding of BIM and coordinated project delivery would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to technical design.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in developing your technical and professional skills.
  • CIAT membership or working towards professional accreditation would be advantageous.
