Applecore PDM is an architectural technology practice delivering residential, HMO, and commercial projects across Hampshire and the South Coast. The team includes MCIAT-qualified professionals and offers over 22 years of experience across feasibility, planning, building regulations, technical design, project coordination, and project completion. Applecore PDM supports clients throughout the full project lifecycle, helping to ensure design, compliance, and buildability. The in-house team combines architectural design, planning expertise, surveying, and project management to create practical, compliant, and commercially viable schemes for homeowners, developers, and investors.
Role Description
The Architectural Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Southampton. This role involves producing detailed technical drawings and construction documentation for residential, HMO, and commercial projects, ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and standards. The Architectural Technician will assist with feasibility studies, planning submissions, and technical design, coordinating with architects, surveyors, and external consultants as needed.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Working with CAD software
- Updating and managing project files
- Supporting project coordination activities
- Contributing to practical, cost-effective design solutions
- Site-related support such as reviewing information from surveys and contractors to help resolve technical issues
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Architectural Technology and Architecture, with the ability to translate design concepts into buildable solutions.
- Proficiency in Technical Drawing and Construction Drawings, including preparation of detailed plans, sections, and elevations.
- Advanced skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) for 2D and 3D project documentation.
- Understanding of UK building regulations, planning processes, and construction methods, particularly for residential and HMO projects.
- Relevant qualification in architectural technology, architecture, or a related discipline (e.g., HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent experience).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Experience in surveying, project coordination, or working within an architectural practice is advantageous.
