Architectural Technician / Technologist – Client-Side Opportunity | Excellent Package

Residential Technical Delivery | Client-Side | Essex

You probably won't enjoy this role...

...unless you're the sort of person who genuinely enjoys the technical side of architecture.

Not the early concepts.

Not endless planning revisions.

Not chasing the next design competition.

The part where a building actually comes together.

Where every drawing matters.

Where construction teams rely on the information you've produced.

Where solving technical challenges is genuinely satisfying.

If that's the part of architecture you naturally gravitate towards, we would like to speak with you.

The Opportunity

We have been retained and are the sole recruitment partner of a well-established client-side organisation that delivers a diverse portfolio of residential-led developments across the UK which includes London and the South East.

Joining their in-house Technical team means becoming part of a business where technical delivery sits at the heart of every project. You will work alongside experienced technical professionals, producing the information that takes projects from design into construction.

This isn't a role where you will spend half your week in planning meetings or constantly switching between concept design and technical delivery.

It's a role for someone who enjoys producing accurate, coordinated technical information and takes pride in seeing buildings successfully delivered.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The sort of person who thrives here...

You probably won't be motivated by flashy architecture.

Instead...

  • You enjoy producing technical drawing packages.
  • You naturally spot details others miss.
  • You like solving construction problems.
  • You understand what it takes to deliver residential projects beyond planning approval.
  • You appreciate seeing your work built on site.
  • You're happy spending the majority of your day doing what you do best… producing high-quality technical information.

You will likely have experience of...

Rather than focusing on job titles, we're interested in people who've built solid technical experience delivering UK residential projects.

Perhaps you've worked within:

  • A residential architectural practice
  • A client-side technical team
  • A multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong residential portfolio
  • A housebuilder's technical department

You will already be comfortable working in AutoCAD and have experience producing technical information for residential developments, whether that's traditional housing, apartment schemes or mixed-use residential projects.

Why people stay…

This isn't a business that's constantly replacing people.

It's one where careers are nurtured and built.

The technical team is collaborative, experienced and genuinely enjoys working together. Knowledge is shared freely, support is always close by and many of today's senior technical professionals began their careers in exactly the same position you're applying for today.

There's a genuine sense of community too. From informal lunches and team activities through to company-wide social events and investment in employee wellbeing, it's an environment that people enjoy being part of… not because they have to, but because they want to.

A place to build a career, not just find another job…

Not everyone wants to become a Director.

Some people simply want to become exceptionally good at what they do, work alongside talented colleagues and enjoy coming to work each day.

If that sounds like you, you will fit in well here.

You will join a business where technical expertise is genuinely respected, careers develop naturally over time, and good people are recognised through meaningful progression, a highly competitive overall reward package and a culture that's both supportive and enjoyable.

Could this be your next move?

If you're working within a residential architectural practice or technical environment today and you've been wondering what a move client-side could look like, we would love to have a confidential conversation.

This isn't about changing what you do.

It's about joining a business that genuinely values the skills you've been developing.
