Your new company

Hays are delighted to be representing a well-established and highly respected design and planning consultancy based in Sutton in their search for an Architectural Technologist to join their growing team.

Known locally for delivering high-quality residential projects, this practice has built an excellent reputation across South London and Surrey, with a significant proportion of their work generated through client recommendations and word-of-mouth referrals. From home extensions and loft conversions through to larger residential developments, they have successfully helped bring hundreds of projects to life for homeowners and developers alike.

As their workload continues to grow, they are now seeking an additional Architectural Technologist to join their friendly, supportive and professional team.

Your new role

This is an excellent opportunity for an Architectural Technologist who is looking to develop their career within the residential sector while gaining exposure to a diverse range of projects from concept through to delivery.

Working closely with the Directors and wider team, you will play a key role in the production of technical drawings, planning submissions and construction information, supporting projects through all stages of the design process.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
