Architectural Technologist – Manchester

About the Client
Our client is an established international construction specialist delivering complex, high-value workspaces and technical environments, including cleanroom, data centre and commercial fit-out projects. The Role
Based in Manchester, you'll be responsible for producing design solutions, including drawings, schedules, technical submittals and supporting documentation, using BIM software. You'll work closely with the client design team, the internal construction team and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover of design packages, and you'll support the project team through the construction and handover phases.

Key Responsibilities
- Liaising with the client design team to clarify scope and deliverables
- Producing and managing drawing and document output using BIM
- Preparing and managing technical submittals and schedules
- Selecting products that are technically suitable and fit for purpose
- Detailing products and their interfaces with other components and materials
- Coordinating with mechanical, electrical and process services using Navisworks
- Managing the issue and receipt of drawing and design information
- Raising and responding to design-stage RFIs and change queries
- Working within established company design procedures
Requirements
- Degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent
- 2 - 3 years' experience
- Previous experience within a busy construction or contracting environment
- Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD
- Sound understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant design standards
- Experience in technical detailing and material specification
- Good knowledge of drawing standards and conventions
- A problem-solving mindset with an eye for technical innovation and value engineering
