Architecture Documentation & Design Consultant
6 Month Fixed-Term Contract (Potential to Become Permanent)
Remote/Hybrid UK
Dig X is seeking a skilled Architecture Documentation & Design Consultant to support the creation of high-quality architectural artefacts for a range of enterprise transformation programmes.
This role is not a traditional Technical Writer position focused on user guides, release notes or operational documentation. Instead, you will work alongside Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects to transform technical concepts, designs and requirements into clear, professional and engaging architecture documentation, models, diagrams and presentation materials.

What You'll Be Doing
Working closely with architecture and delivery teams, you will:
- Produce high-quality High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD) documentation.
- Create architecture packs, solution overviews and technical design artefacts.
- Develop clear and professional architecture diagrams, models and visual representations.
- Document solution designs, integration patterns, technology landscapes and platform architectures.
- Support architects in capturing requirements, assumptions, decisions and design rationale.
- Ensure documentation follows agreed standards, templates and governance requirements.
- Prepare client-facing materials, presentations and supporting artefacts for architecture reviews and design boards.
- Help maintain architectural repositories and ensure documentation remains current and accessible.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines strong documentation skills with a genuine understanding of technology and solution architecture.
Experience needed
- Experience producing architecture and technical design documentation.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture and solution design principles.
- Experience creating HLDs, LLDs, architecture decision records and design packs.
- Strong diagramming and modelling skills using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io or similar.
- Ability to interpret complex technical information and communicate it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
- Experience working alongside Architects, Technical Leads or Engineering teams.
- Confidence managing multiple documentation workstreams simultaneously.

Desirable Experience
- Exposure to enterprise transformation, cloud migration or digital transformation programmes.
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure and the Microsoft technology stack.
- Experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate or similar.
- Familiarity with architecture governance processes and design authority reviews.
