Position
As part of LVMH / Moët Hennessy, The Glenmorangie Company crafts, distributes and markets two of Scotland’s most acclaimed single malt whiskies. Glenmorangie is famed as the leading Highland single malt, renowned for its smooth, complex, and accessible taste, its mastery of wood in cask maturation, and its industry leading whisky innovation. Ardbeg is the ultimate Islay whisky and the smokiest of all Scotland’s Single Malts – and is also famed for its unorthodox, envied, and untamed brand.
We have a rare opportunity to join the team at Ardbeg Distillery as an Electrical distillery technician for a period of 12 months. Be part of a close-knit team, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance while driving forward innovative projects.
The job holder will report to the Distillery Manager and collaborate with the Mechanical Distillery Technician. Responsibilities include supporting planned and breakdown maintenance, identifying issues, problem-solving, and continuous improvement for both the distillery and warehousing operations. Maintenance tasks are recorded and signed off via SAP so an understanding of this would be advantageous. The successful candidate would lead with an electrical bias and will work with PLC systems and automation. The distillery maintains a 24-hour production schedule, operating five days per week. The candidate will be on call every other week during these five days.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, fault finding, repairs, monitoring, and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment across the distillery and warehouses.
- Execute small project installations for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve shared goals effectively.
- Maintain high standards of compliance and safety to prevent accidents or environmental incidents.
- Manage contractors, including reviewing risk assessments/method statements and writing permits.
- Use the computerized asset management system (SAP) to complete scheduled work as per the work schedule.
- Conduct mandatory compliance checks and maintain records.
- Participate in meetings with the site team to discuss future works and issues.
Profile
Technical Skills Experience Required:
- Multi skilled, time served technician with an electrical bias.
- Knowledge of safe system of work (risk assessment and isolation).
- Strong fault findings skills with ability to work under pressure and adapt within short notice.
Key Competencies:
- Computer literate (Excel, computerised asset management system, Word).
- Basic PLC understanding.
- UK Driving license.
- Ability to work proactively on their own safely.
- Ideally COMPEX trained.
- ECS card.
