Area Business Manager, two opportunities across Southern England
Attractive Salary + Car + Benefits
We are looking for two Area Business Managers to join Froneri’s UK field sales team. One role will cover Dorset, Somerset and surrounding areas, including parts of Wiltshire (BS, BA, TA, DT and BH).
The other will cover Berkshire, Hampshire and surrounding areas (SN, SP, RG, GU, SO and PO). These are home-based field roles, and we will consider candidates wherever they can cover one of the territories effectively.
This is an exciting time to join. We are investing in clearer territory ownership, stronger support and coaching, and a more proactive approach to growth. You will develop established customer relationships, win new business and help take Froneri’s brands into more Convenience and Out of Home locations.
The Role
Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, you will take ownership of an area and its commercial potential. Established leisure and visitor customers are central to the role: you will build strong relationships and help them grow through the right product range, visibility and execution. Alongside this, you will identify and win new business in Convenience, Foodservice and wider Out of Home. You will be encouraged to think beyond an inherited call plan, take the initiative and turn local opportunities into sustained sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and develop relationships with existing leisure, attraction, holiday park and other Out of Home customers.
- Prospect for new customers, open accounts and develop opportunities across the area.
- Grow distribution, visibility and sales in Convenience, including independent and symbol stores where the route to sale permits.
- Explore opportunities in Foodservice, hospitality and other Out of Home settings, understanding how each customer buys.
- Work with Froneri National Account Managers to bring wider customer agreements to life locally and share insight from the field.
- Help customers choose the right product mix, promotional activity and freezer or point of sale options, with sound commercial judgement.
- Set clear priorities for your territory, plan efficient customer visits and follow opportunities through to a result.
- Deliver agreed sales targets and new business objectives, measuring both activity and commercial outcomes.
- Build productive relationships with relevant wholesalers, depot teams and other route-to-market partners.
- Provide useful feedback on customers, competitor activity and emerging market opportunities.
- Maintain accurate account records, a visible pipeline and high standards of customer service and execution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Candidate Requirements
We are open to commercially minded field salespeople from branded or own-label FMCG, whether employed directly by a manufacturer or working with major brands through a field sales agency. We will look at what you have achieved personally and the potential you bring, rather than assuming that one route or job title is the only answer.
Relevant backgrounds include:
- FMCG field sales and territory development, including Convenience and impulse.
- Leisure, Foodservice and Out of Home customer sales.
- Foodservice wholesale or a customer-facing route-to-market role with evidence of winning and developing business.
The Person
- You enjoy being out with customers, asking questions and finding opportunities others may miss.
- You can show where you personally won business, improved distribution or grew an account.
- You combine energy and persistence with the discipline to plan your week, follow up and keep accurate records.
- You are comfortable with clear objectives, coaching and accountability, and keen to keep developing.
- You work well with colleagues across field sales, national accounts and the wider business.

Why Join Froneri?
Froneri brings together the scale of a global ice cream business and a portfolio of brands that customers and consumers already know and love. In this role, you will have genuine ownership of your area: developing an established leisure business, winning new customers across Convenience and wider Out of Home, and working alongside National Account Managers to bring customer plans to life. It is a strong platform for an ambitious field sales professional to broaden their commercial experience and, in time, have the opportunity to progress to National Accounts.
Please note
Froneri has chosen to work exclusively with PT Executive on this search. We kindly ask other recruiters to respect that decision and not contact Froneri in relation to the role. Thank you.
