Role Description

The Area Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Portsmouth, responsible for overseeing facilities services across multiple customer locations. This role includes:

  • Managing day-to-day operations for security, cleaning, and maintenance services
  • Ensuring service quality, safety, and compliance with customer agreements
  • Leading and supporting site teams
  • Coordinating staffing and scheduling
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customers in the assigned area

  • Collaborating with senior management to support growth and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Experience in facilities management or related services (security, cleaning, maintenance), with a strong understanding of operational best practices.
  • Proven people management skills, including team leadership, coaching, scheduling, and performance management across multiple sites.
  • Customer relationship skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, manage expectations, and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Organizational and planning skills, including time management, prioritization, and attention to detail in reporting and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on safety, service quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Comfort working on-site and traveling between locations within the Portsmouth area; valid driver’s license is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in an area, regional, or contract management role is preferred; background in FM or soft services is an advantage.
  • Relevant vocational training or qualifications in facilities management, security, or cleaning services are beneficial.
